My Morning Journal

Privacy Policy  ·  Last updated July 10, 2026

The short version: This app stores your journal entries only on your own device. Nothing is ever sent to a server. No data is collected, tracked, or shared — by anyone, ever.

What data we collect

We collect nothing. My Morning Journal does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any personal information of any kind.

All content you write — gratitudes, fears, plans, readings, and takeaways — is stored exclusively in your device's browser localStorage. It never leaves your device.

Your PIN

If you choose to set a PIN, it is hashed using SHA-256 in your browser before being stored in localStorage. The plain-text PIN is never stored anywhere. The hash never leaves your device.

Analytics & tracking

The app contains no analytics, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or third-party scripts of any kind. There is no code that phones home.

Internet access

My Morning Journal works entirely offline. The app's service worker caches all files locally so it runs without any network connection. No requests are made to external servers during normal use.

Data storage & deletion

Your data is stored in your device's browser storage. You are in full control:

Permissions

The app requests no device permissions — no camera, microphone, location, contacts, or notifications.

The only browser API used for storage is localStorage, which is sandboxed to this app.

Children's privacy

Because this app collects no data from anyone, there are no special concerns regarding users under the age of 13 (COPPA) or 16 (GDPR). No data is collected from any user, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Because no data is collected, any changes will only ever be clarifications — never expansions of data collection.
